Michael Loyd

Michael Loyd is a 26-year-old pro pickleball player from Austin, Texas, who found the sport during the pandemic after playing Division 1 tennis at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. Born and raised in Dallas, Loyd turned pro in 2022 while earning his MBA. He now competes full-time on the PPA Tour with the Texas Ranchers in MLP, bringing an explosive, fast-hands style that makes him one of the more entertaining players to watch at the net.

With over 400 career matches and climbing, Loyd has earned multiple PPA medals in both doubles and mixed doubles. He trains in Austin alongside some of the game's best, including Ben Johns, and puts serious time into film study to sharpen his game. His favorite event is the PPA World Championships in Dallas, where he gets to compete in front of the hometown crowd. Off the court, Loyd is known for his faith-driven mindset and over 30 tattoos. He's the kind of player who leaves everything on the court and makes you feel like every point matters.
