Spencer Smith is a 34-year-old professional pickleball player from Lehi, UT whose tennis pedigree is hard to ignore: he went undefeated in high school as a 3x state champion, was ranked No. 10 in singles and No. 2 in doubles in Utah, and played collegiate tennis at BYU. How he discovered pickleball, though, is a much better story. It happened on a Tinder date. Sometimes the algorithm really does work.
Smith competes across all three disciplines on the PPA Tour, with his strongest results coming in men's doubles where he holds a 44.4% career win rate. He's played for the Los Angeles Mad Drops in Major League Pickleball and has logged over 300 career matches across 63+ professional tournaments, regularly teaming up with partners like Tyler Loong, Meghan Dizon, and Chuck Taylor. He's faced top competition including Jack Sock on tour. Off the court, he's into skiing, traveling, and sushi.
