Patrick Smith is a professional pickleball player who has been ranked as high as #3 in Men's Doubles and #4 in Mixed Doubles. Born and raised in Munich, Germany, Smith now calls Wichita, Kansas home after playing four years of Division I tennis at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. He has partnered with Jay Devilliers to win gold at multiple events, including the APP Cincinnati Open and APP Indianapolis Open, and earned silver at the 2021 World Pickleball Championship.
Smith's game is anchored by a punishing forehand drive and a backhand counter that he has broken down in instructional videos on TopCourt. He plays with an Electrum Pro paddle and brings a fearless, aggressive style that keeps opponents guessing. Off the court, Smith is the CEO of Hair by Robotics, a company specializing in robotic hair transplants, making him one of the more unique dual-career athletes in the sport. His parents inspired his competitive drive, and he frequently reminds players at all levels to never forget to have fun. Smith also offers coaching through TopCourt, covering mixed doubles strategy, serve stacking, and return strategies.
