Martin Emmrich

Martin Emmrich is a retired German tennis pro who spent 12 years on the ATP Tour before finding a second competitive life in pickleball. Born December 17, 1984, Emmrich reached a career-high doubles ranking of No. 35 in tennis, won three ATP titles, and represented Germany in the Davis Cup. He competed in all four Grand Slams and racked up around 18 professional titles across the ATP and Challenger circuits. Now he's channeling all that doubles expertise into the PPA Tour and MLP, where he plays at the challenger level with the St. Louis Shock.

Since making the switch, Emmrich has already earned four pickleball medals, including three golds in men's and mixed doubles. He's sponsored by Holbrook Pickleball and plays with their Power Pro E 14mm paddle. His wife Tammy is also a pro pickleball player and former tennis pro, making them one of the sport's power couples. Emmrich has said the transition reignited his competitive fire after years on the tennis grind, and his court awareness from decades of doubles play translates perfectly to the smaller court.
