Emma Nelson

Emma Nelson is one of the youngest players on the PPA Tour, making her professional debut at just 14 years old. Hailing from Omaha, Nebraska, Nelson discovered pickleball four years ago at a local community center alongside her father and two brothers. What began as a family hobby quickly turned serious after she won her first local tournament partnered with her dad, who now travels with her as her full-time coach. A former competitive volleyball player with five years of experience, Nelson made the bold decision in 2023 to step away from volleyball entirely and commit to pickleball. That bet paid off fast: by February 2024, she was making her PPA debut at the Mesa Cup, playing her very first professional match on Championship Court.

Nelson's rise since then has been remarkable. She pushed veteran pros Meghan Dizon and Andrei Daescu to three games at PPA Kansas City in August 2024, earned her first main draw win in February 2025, and captured a singles title at an APP Next event in July 2025 before officially signing with the PPA Tour in September 2025. Known for a playing style that blends controlled aggression with tactical patience, she is especially dangerous with her forehand cross-court shot and her ability to create sharp, unreachable angles. At the November 2025 PPA World Championships, Nelson made two appearances on Championship Court, proving she belongs among the sport's elite despite still being a teenager. Off the court, she is a brand ambassador for Ramsports and credits her faith and family as the foundation of her rapid ascent.
