Darrian Young

DJ Young is a professional pickleball player who traded in a decade of competitive junior tennis for a paddle and never looked back. Young grew up in Burriana, Spain, before moving to Southern California at age 13, giving him an international perspective and multilingual background that's rare on the pro circuit. After burning out from tennis, he was convinced to try pickleball and found it reignited his competitive fire.

Now based in Austin, TX, Young trains regularly with the growing community of professional players there. His game is built on wrist flexibility, strategic court awareness, and a natural ability to generate power that catches opponents off guard. Since turning pro, he's won numerous titles across different competitions and venues, establishing himself as a versatile threat in any format. Young's journey from Spanish junior tennis to Texas pickleball pro is one of the more unique origin stories in the sport.
