Blaine Hovenier is a Canadian pro pickleball player who took a unique path through college tennis at both UCLA and SMU before discovering pickleball in the summer of 2023. He won two NCAA conference titles in tennis, the PAC-12 championship in 2019 and the American Athletic Conference championship in 2023, which gives you an idea of the competitive pedigree he brings to the court. Now based in Dallas, Hovenier has climbed to the top 25 in PPA Men's and Mixed Doubles and holds the title of No. 1 ranked Canadian male pickleball player.

Hovenier competes on both the PPA Tour and MLP, where he's swept opponents and shown he can hang with the best in the game. He's partnered with Eugenie Bouchard in mixed doubles and competed at the 2024 Pickleball World Championships. Sponsored by Six Zero Pickleball, Hovenier treats his pickleball training like a college athlete would: morning lifts or track work followed by one-on-one drills. He's predicted pickleball could debut in the Olympics by 2032, and given how fast he's risen in the sport, he might just be one of the players representing his country when it does.
