Yates Johnson

Yates Johnson is a former professional tennis player who, along with his twin brother Hunter, became one of the first active pro tennis players to make the full-time jump to pickleball in late 2022. During their tennis careers, the Johnson twins spent about five years on the ATP doubles tour, competing in over 20 countries and winning 14 titles together, including victories over players like Alexander Zverev and Felix Auger-Aliassime. Born in Taos, New Mexico, Yates has quickly proven he belongs among pickleball's best.

With over 500 career pro matches and a 53.7% win rate, Johnson has notched wins against top players like Ben Johns and Tyson McGuffin. He competes on both the PPA Tour and in Major League Pickleball, and his strong passing shots and relentless physical grind make him a tough out for anyone. Long-term, Yates dreams of representing the U.S. in the Olympics if pickleball becomes a demonstration sport at the 2028 Los Angeles Games.
