Kyle Yates is a pickleball legend, full stop. The Fort Myers, Florida native got hooked on the sport as a teenager after his uncle introduced him, and by age 19 he'd won gold in men's doubles at the 2014 USA Pickleball National Tournament. In 2016, he completed a career grand slam in men's pro doubles by winning the US Open, Tournament of Champions, and USAPA Nationals in the same year. He's stacked up seven US Open pro doubles titles, four USA Pickleball National Championships, and held the #1 world doubles ranking in 2018. In November 2024, he was inducted into the Pickleball Hall of Fame as its youngest-ever member.
Yates is also known for popularizing "The Kyle," a signature reach-in shot that's become part of the sport's vocabulary, and more recently debuted "The Cookie Jar," a tricky crosscourt switch shot. Beyond competing, he serves as High Performance Co-Director for the APP Tour, where he leads the APP Touring Pro Program at The Fort facility to train the next generation of elite players. He's coached clinics across 15 states and 9 countries. With 13 career APP Tour medals and a 65.5% win rate in doubles, Yates has earned every bit of his Hall of Fame status.
