William Sobek is a professional pickleball player from Key West, Florida who has been swinging a paddle since he was four years old. Let that sink in. By age 11, he was the youngest player at the 2016 US Open Pickleball Championships, where he entered the men's 19+ singles bracket and came home with a bronze medal. He turned pro in 2019 and now competes across the APP Tour and PPA Tour, racking up nearly 400 career matches with a strong win rate in singles.

Sobek's breakout moment came at the 2023 APP Boca Raton NYC Open at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center, where he won his first pro gold in men's singles with one of the most dramatic comebacks in recent memory. Down 14-6 in the tiebreaker against Vuk Velickovic, he saved seven match points to win 16-14. Off the court, he runs the Sobek Pickleball Academy alongside his father Rosti, who helped build Key West's first pickleball courts back in 2009. William is an adidas athlete and one of the sport's true homegrown talents.
