Dayne Gingrich is a senior pro pickleball player, coach, and author from Santa Barbara, California, who brings decades of competitive tennis experience to the court. A former standout at Dos Pueblos High School and Community College All-American at Santa Barbara City College, Gingrich spent years as a professional tennis coach before discovering pickleball in 2015. He went competitive around 2018 and quickly rose to the top of the senior pro ranks, winning multiple gold medals at the U.S. Open Pickleball Championships, including Senior Pro Men's Doubles (with Dave Weinbach), Senior Pro Mixed Doubles (with Jen Dawson), and an Open Split-Age Division title with Riley Newman.
Off the court, Gingrich is known for his mental performance coaching brand "The 1% Mindset, Driven by the Impossible" and his book Pickleball Mindset: The Blueprint for Peak Performance. He plays a full 20+ tournament schedule annually while balancing nationwide teaching clinics and content creation. His favorite shot is the two-handed backhand attack, and his playing philosophy centers on controlled aggression and shot intention over pure mechanics. Sponsored by ProXR and Scorpions Pickleball, Gingrich is one of the most visible and respected voices in the senior pro game.
