Will Howells

Will Howells is the late bloomer who showed up to pro pickleball in 2023 and immediately started making everyone else nervous. Growing up in Richmond, Virginia, Howells moved to South Florida at 13 to train tennis under legendary coach Nick Saviano alongside future stars like Genie Bouchard. He went on to play college tennis at Notre Dame, posting a 45-18 singles record in his first two years before an ankle injury derailed his pro tennis dreams. After a stint living in Milwaukee and years away from competitive racket sports, he picked up pickleball in February 2023. By May, he was entering pro tournaments. By the end of the year, he was finishing top 8 in doubles at APP events.

The speed of Howells' ascent is frankly ridiculous. He captured a Triple Crown (gold in singles, doubles, and mixed) at the 2025 APP Fort Lauderdale Open, climbed to #1 on the APP Tour, and earned a spot on MLP's New Jersey 5's. His training philosophy is "quality over quantity," and he sharpens his game alongside top players like JW Johnson in Florida.
