Federico Staksrud is an Argentine-born pickleball pro who brings South American flair and a cat-and-mouse playing style to the PPA Tour. Born and raised in Buenos Aires, Staksrud moved to the United States at 17 for college tennis, bouncing from the University of New Orleans to Tennessee Wesleyan before earning a master's degree in Information Systems from Florida Gulf Coast University. He'd never even heard of pickleball until 2021, but after training with coaches like Simone Jardim and CJ Klinger, he committed fully. He plays in Major League Pickleball and is known for exceptional fitness and net play.

Staksrud's breakout moment came at the 2026 PPA Zimmer Biomet Cape Coral Open, where he won the men's singles gold medal on his 30th birthday, beating #1 seed Hunter Johnson 11-9, 11-7. Off the court, he's into F1 racing, NBA basketball, and still loves tennis. Follow him on Instagram @federico_staksrud.

Fun Fact
He grew up playing tennis in Buenos Aires but never traveled the international ITF junior circuit because his family couldn't afford it. He came to the U.S. at 17 on a college tennis scholarship instead.
