Richard Livornese Jr. is one of pickleball's youngest rising stars, having turned down a finance job after graduating from Stevens Institute of Technology in 2023 to chase his dream on the pro circuit. The Flemington, New Jersey native played football and lacrosse before COVID-19 led him to a local pickleball club during his college years, and he was instantly hooked. His pro debut came at the 2022 APP New Jersey Open, and within a year he was a top-10 player on the APP Tour and a member of the APP Next Gen National Team for players under 23.
Livornese earned his first gold medal in doubles with Tanner Tomassi at APP Newport Beach and won a Minor League Pickleball championship with Team Smash. Now based at Bounce Pickleball in Malvern, Pennsylvania, where he serves as their first-ever playing pro, Livornese splits his time between competing nationally and developing the next generation of players through clinics and lessons. He's already gone toe-to-toe with the likes of Tyson McGuffin and Julian Arnold, and at just 23 years old, his ceiling is sky-high.
