Will MacKinnon is a professional pickleball player from Santa Rosa, California, who has been playing the sport since he was five years old. Unlike many pros who transitioned from tennis or other racquet sports, MacKinnon is a true pickleball purist who grew up with a paddle in his hand. His dad Adam MacKinnon is a senior pro player, referee, and instructor, so the sport runs deep in the family. That lifelong experience has given him an intuitive feel for the game that is hard to replicate, and it showed when he and partner Luke Aven pulled off a stunning upset over Ryan Fu and Tyson McGuffin at the Rate Vegas Cup while MacKinnon was still a 17-year-old high school senior.

Now competing regularly on the PPA Tour, MacKinnon has climbed into the top 75 in doubles rankings and continues to rise. His playing style features aggressive dinking, especially from the left side, and he generates heavy topspin by getting on top of the ball. He has faced top competition including Jack Sock in singles at the Carvana Masters. For a player who is not even old enough to remember life without pickleball, the future looks incredibly bright.
