Kyle Koszuta, better known as "That Pickleball Guy," started playing pickleball on August 26, 2021, and has since turned it into a full-blown career as both a pro player and one of the sport's most popular content creators. Based in Phoenix, Arizona, Koszuta came from a college basketball background where he competed against future NBA stars like Julius Randle and Andrew Wiggins before losing confidence and stepping away from hoops. Pickleball gave him a second shot at competitive sports, and he grabbed it. Within 18 months of picking up a paddle, he had 100,000 Instagram followers and a Friday Pickleball sponsorship.
On the court, Koszuta has competed in 41 professional tournaments with 168 career matches, and his results have been trending sharply upward with a 51%+ win rate in both 2024 and 2025 after a rough 2023 debut season. He reached the APP Fort Lauderdale finals in men's doubles in 2025, showing real growth as a competitor. Off the court, he runs That Pickleball Guy as a media empire: YouTube tutorials, an online school on Skool, a Substack newsletter, and a coaching website offering on-demand strategy videos. His analytical approach, rooted in lessons from basketball about dead-ball strategy and mental toughness, makes his content genuinely useful.
