Robert Slutsky is a professional pickleball player from the United States who brings an interesting mix of brains and athleticism to the pro circuit. Before pickleball, Slutsky was winning math and programming competitions, graduated as valedictorian from Washington University in St. Louis, and competed on the school's ultimate frisbee team that made it to college nationals. So yeah, he's basically good at everything he tries.
On the pickleball court, Slutsky is known for his aggressive playing style and relentless work ethic. At the Selkirk Kansas City Open, he played eight matches in a single day across three different events (men's singles, mixed doubles, and men's doubles qualifiers), finishing with a 7-1 record. He's reached the quarterfinals at the Red Rock tournament and made the men's doubles semifinal at the APP Mesa Open. His combination of analytical thinking and competitive fire makes him a uniquely dangerous opponent who probably has a spreadsheet breaking down your tendencies before you even step on the court.
