Mario Barrientos is a professional pickleball player from Santiago, Chile who has been grinding his way up the pro ranks since discovering the sport in 2019. Born on December 26, 1994, Barrientos was introduced to pickleball by a co-worker and quickly turned a casual introduction into a full-time career. Known for his tenacious grinding style and lightning-fast hands, he's built his game on pure work ethic and relentless improvement, earning gold at PPA Las Vegas along with multiple APP tournament medals.
Now based in Utah, Barrientos competes on both the PPA and APP tours and has played in Major League Pickleball. Sponsored by Gearbox, he wields the Pro Power Elongated paddle, a 14mm powerhouse with a 3K woven carbon fiber face that matches his aggressive playing style. With over 35 pro events under his belt, the Chilean import has proven that you don't need to come from a tennis background to compete at the highest levels of professional pickleball. You just need to outwork everyone else.
