Elizabeth 'Beth' Bellamy (nee Herr) is a former WTA pro turned pickleball champion who has dominated the Champions Division (50+) with over 100 gold medals. Her tennis resume is stacked: she won two Ohio high school state singles titles, the 1983 NCAA singles championship as a freshman at USC, and spent a decade on the WTA Tour with four doubles titles and a top-25 ranking. She played against legends like Billie Jean King and Martina Navratilova across more than 25 Grand Slams.
After retiring from tennis, Bellamy earned a law degree from UCLA and excelled in paddle tennis before discovering pickleball during the COVID pandemic. She quickly became the world's No. 1 in singles, doubles, and mixed doubles for the 50+ age group in 2022, winning 43 gold medals that year alone. Beyond competing, she co-founded the National Pickleball League (NPL) in 2022 alongside Rick Witsken and Michael Chen, creating a team competition format for elite senior players that has expanded to six teams. She also has her own signature paddle, the Beth Bellamy Diamond Series. With four sons who all played college tennis, racquet sports clearly run in the family.
