Stephen Mitchell is a professional pickleball player and the co-founder of the Boston Pickle Club, one of New England's premier pickleball facilities located in Hyde Park, Massachusetts. Originally from Cape Town, South Africa, Mitchell has an incredibly deep racquet sports resume. He competed in junior Grand Slams at the Australian Open, Wimbledon, and the U.S. Open before playing Division 1 tennis at the University of Alabama, where he captained the team his senior year. He later played on the ATP tour and represented South Africa in Davis Cup.
After his tennis career, Mitchell won three national championships in platform tennis and spent 18 years as a racquets professional, most recently serving as Director of Racquets at Braeburn Country Club in Newton, MA. Now he has turned his attention to pickleball, competing on the APP Tour in men's doubles while building the Boston Pickle Club into a thriving community hub. With world-class racquet sport fundamentals and decades of competitive experience, Mitchell brings a level of polish and court craft that only a handful of players on tour can match.
