Scott Doerner's athletic resume is absolutely stacked. The Australian-born player was his country's top-ranked junior tennis player, then crossed the Pacific to attend Pepperdine University where he became the #1 NCAA player in 2006, earned All-American honors, and was named WCC Player of the Year twice. He even beat John Isner in doubles during an NCAA team final. After his pro tennis career was cut short by four elbow surgeries, he pivoted to Pop Tennis, where he and his brother Austin became the world's #1 team from 2014-2018 (with 18 US Open Paddle Championships). Now based in Westlake Village, California, he's brought all of that racquet sport mastery to pickleball.
On the pickleball court, Scott's tennis pedigree shows in everything he does - his volleys, his court positioning, his ability to read the game at a level most players never reach. He competes on the PPA Tour and has played in MLP events. Beyond playing, Scott is a touring pro at Sherwood Country Club, coaches at US Pickleball Camps, and co-founded California Smash, a pickleball facility and social club in the South Bay area. He's basically done everything you can do with a racquet or paddle in hand.
