David Bieger went from leading the University of Virginia to a stunning upset victory at the 2023 Collegiate National Championship to taking on the biggest names in professional pickleball. A Physics and Computer Science double major at UVA, Bieger is proof that big brains and fast hands aren't mutually exclusive. His transition to pro play has been marked by fearless performances, including a jaw-dropping upset over Tyson McGuffin as a #59 seed at the PPA Bristol Open in 2025.
Now based in Richmond, Virginia, Bieger brings elite footwork, punishing groundstrokes, and serious hand speed to every match. At the 2024 Collegiate Individual National Championships, he finished second in both singles and mixed doubles, showing his versatility across all formats. He's also a performance coach who runs clinics and private lessons when he's not competing, helping the next generation of players level up their game.
