Hercilio Cabieses

Hercilio Cabieses is one of pickleball's most passionate global ambassadors. Originally from Peru, Cabieses transitioned from professional tennis (where he competed on the futures circuit and played collegiately in Spain) to pickleball during the pandemic. He now serves as President of Pickleball Peru and founded the Pickleball World Cup, which debuted in 2023 with 14 countries and grew to 33 by 2024, with plans to host 64+ nations in 2025. His reach extends far beyond his own competitive play.

Alongside his sister Miranda, Cabieses co-founded the Cabieses Foundation, which has provided paddles and balls to over 50,000 kids across Peru and 12 other countries in the Americas. The foundation organizes clinics, tournaments, and grassroots events, sometimes using nothing more than chalk-drawn courts to introduce the sport to underprivileged communities. He's been recognized as a World Pickleball Sports Ambassador by the International Federation of Pickleball. On the competitive side, he and Miranda earned a silver medal in Pro Mixed Doubles at the 2023 Minto U.S. Open. Whether he's running clinics in Venezuela, Colombia, or Ecuador, Cabieses is on a mission to make pickleball a truly global sport.
